Peanut Brittle Attempt 2

This is my second attempt to make a proper brittle. Hopefully it works better this time :)

Peanut Brittle

Ingredients 

  • 100 g or 1/2 cup sugar

  • 60 ml or 1/4 cup corn syrup

  • pinch of salt (if you use unsalted peanuts)

  • 20 ml or 1/8 cup water

  • 75 g or 1/2 cup peanuts

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  1. Place sugar, syrup, salt and water into pot (that has enough room when baking soda is bubbling up)

  2. Cook until slowly boiling

  3. Add peanuts and thermometer into pot

  4. Stir until 148C/300F

  5. Add baking soda work quickly so you don’t loose bubbles

  6. Immediately transfer mix onto oiled/sprayed baking sheet
